Established in 1999, Encounters With Dolphins has been safely providing guests the opportunity to view dolphins, learn about Clearwater and enjoy the sand and sun on Compass Island and maybe even take a dip on the island! We are a veteran owned and operated small business founded on the principal of wanting our guests to have the same experiences we would want to have on our vacation! What To Expect

Clearwater Beach

Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater’s harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area’s dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim, snorkel and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our brand new 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim, snorkel (gear is provided) and enjoy the island.

I booked my experience for the first day of my trip, and mother nature did not behave. As a result, the experience got cancelled. The gentleman at the booth was so accommodating and offered either a refund or to reschedule the experience. I had had the opportunity to take this tour before and wanted my mom to enjoy it. I reschedule it. Glad, I did, the experience was great, did see the dolphins and enjoyed not only the view but also the narrative offered by the coolest ladies I've ever heard! You are free to bring your cooler with alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, and if you are hungry, you can get some snacks (chips) on board! Do bring a swimsuit so you can spend some time in the Compass Island water! I recommend to book this experience on the first day of your trip in case mother nature misbehaves again! You will not regret it!

Had a great time with these lovely hostesses and we were able to witness the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. They also took us out to a small island where we were able to take some amazing photos. This excursion was both affordable and family friendly. This is a must book excursion, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

The staff on the boat were fantastic! Went out of their way to make sure the children on the boat all saw the dolphins! Very knowledgeable about sea life and the area. Guide also pointed out the celebrity homes. Favorite part of the trip was stopping at the island so you can take a swim or collect sea shells! Staff also takes a picture of your family when you first board and you can purchase it after for $10. Will definitely return next vacation!
