Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple an additional seat must be purchased at time booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
Not wheelchair Accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines

Helicopter is a shared cabin holding up to 6 passengers and one pilot.
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului heliport on Maui at least 30 minutes before your chosen departure time. The heliport is located at 1 Keolani Pl #110, Kahului, HI 96732.

Haleakala Crater

After a short orientation, climb into the helicopter with your private pilot and take off for a scenic, 75-minute flight over southern Maui. Be sure to have your camera ready for views of the beaches, cliffs, and jungles. Marvel at sweeping views of the dormant Haleakala volcano, then touch down at a private cliffside location. This is a great opportunity to celebrate special occasions with a loved one.

Hana

Take off again to fly over the Hana rain forest, as well as some canyons and waterfalls, before returning to the airport.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

We were told our 8:00-12:00 window to arrive but we needed to be there 30 minutes in advance. So getting up at 5:45 to leave Kahana by 6:30 for a 7:30 arrival was ok because we were told to show up that early. We then sat and waited for the rest of our travel group to arrive which was almost 9:00. If I had known we would not take off until 9:00, I would have slept in! We were also told to go pay for a parking pass after we had parked. I suggest adding directions for arrival and parking instructions to the confirmation. Our pilot, Cameron, was the peak of our trip. He was easy going and explained everything very well.

Thank you for the review and feedback. I am so sorry about the confusion regarding your flight time. I am not sure how exactly you booked your flight but if it was booked online some the websites will offer either a morning time frame or afternoon time frame. Once we receive the order we input the reservation depending on availability. If your email was provided then we email a confirmation with exact flight time and instructions. Some websites do not give us your email so those sites will instruct you to call the vender to reconfirm and get exact departure time. Regardless the confusion (so sorry again!) I am happy to hear you enjoyed your time flying with Cameron. Aloha!

The tour was very good and informational. The view of the volcano was like looking at another planet. The cliff landing was very cool. We had done the Road to Hana early in the week and to see where we had been from up above was totally awesome. Capt Kirk provided a very informational tour!!!! A must do!!!

This might have been the best thing we did in Maui while on our honeymoon. Our pilot Troy was a blast. He smoothly navigated us on the tour providing us with all sorts of cool information as we approached different points of interest. He played an awesome sound track that just went with the tour. The cliff slide landing was an experience like no other. We were on such a secluded part of the island that it was so cool being that remote and alone.The view was amazing and the water was so beautiful. The only minor disappointment was that in the video we purchased it shows the flyers reaction to the takeoff from the cliff slide landing instead of the helicopters point of view which I think would have been cooler.
