Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple an additional seat must be purchased at time booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
Not wheelchair Accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines

Helicopter is a shared cabin holding up to 6 passengers and one pilot.
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului heliport on Maui at least 30 minutes before your chosen departure time. The heliport is located at 1 Keolani Pl #110, Kahului, HI 96732.

Haleakala Crater

After a short orientation, climb into the helicopter with your private pilot and take off for a scenic, 75-minute flight over southern Maui. Be sure to have your camera ready for views of the beaches, cliffs, and jungles. Marvel at sweeping views of the dormant Haleakala volcano, then touch down at a private cliffside location. This is a great opportunity to celebrate special occasions with a loved one.

Hana

Take off again to fly over the Hana rain forest, as well as some canyons and waterfalls, before returning to the airport.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Our helicopter tour was AMAZING!! Dylan was our pilot and he was incredibly personable, knowledgeable and ,as a bonus, had a fantastic playlist. I live to shoot pictures and after reading other reviews, the front seats were definitely the way to go and the Cliffside Landing was an added photographic bonus. We booked through AAA, which gave us a great discount. Once we had confirmation, I called Air Maui and made arrangements to upgrade us to the front seats. Totally worth every penny!! They take your picture in front of the helicopter before the flight, so a word of advice if you want a good picture, put the yellow life preserver under your shirt and behind you and put it back after the picture. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. We purchased the video and picture at the end. As of our flight the video/picture was $65.00, but only $50.00 if you pay cash. Good to know in advance. Also, the parking box is right past the entrance and to the right. We missed it and had to walk back to pay it. It's easy to miss. Overall this was a fantastic experience. Everyone at Air Maui was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back for another flight on our next trip to Maui!!

This was an incredible experience and I highly recommend doing it. Our pilot, Jim, was very funny and knowledgeable. I did the tour with the landing and it was unbelievable. I went on my own and was able to take advantage of their single seat special for only $100!! I mentioned it to some of my friends from the hostel I stayed at and they all loved it too. Best first helicopter ride!

We planned to do the Hana and Haleakala tour with cliffside landing, but there were clouds and rain in those areas. We were offered a choice of reschedule, refund, or a tour that went to Moloka'i (still with a landing) instead. We went on the alternate tour and did not feel like we settled for something less. Captain Kirk made sure passengers on both sides got good views of the waterfalls and canyons. We could also see whales in the ocean. We heard some history of the area throughout the trip. The helicopter tour was certainly a highlight of our trip to Hawaii. We would do this tour again.
