Overview

A rare opportunity to see the ancient bond between man and bird. In a small group, you will interact with a variety of hawks, falcons and owls, learn their natural history and their differences, and see an unforgettable flying demonstration. The Beginners Experience culminates with a chance for you
to put on a glove and hold a trained falcon.

There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage only by their own will.

Our master falconer Deeana was awesome ! Incredibly knowledgeable about the birds and patient with all of us! Watching these birds in action has to be experienced - words can’t do it justice

Falconer, Katy W., provided me with two solid solo hours of PAR EXCELLENCE discussing and demonstrating her superior ornithology skills with almost a dozen individual raptors. As her presentation progressed, she encouraged and fortified my curiosity by asking me almost as many questions as I asked her. She exuded such a confident presence as she taught me to handle Maverick and "Lancelot Link" ;^D Made it seem natural that I will pursue falconry in central Florida. Katy, thank you for sharing some of your expertise with me. When a Broadmoor Outfitters employee answers my cell phone call to verify their physical address and rendezvous location, they first need to know the street address to share it with anyone. The numeral "6" it is NOT shown on Lake Avenue. The cost for my 2 hours of the Broadmoor falconry is higher than 2 days of out-of-state tickets for one guest to the largest theme park in central Florida ... and this park includes parking and shuttle trams for its visitors in the price. Please, charge me $15 for my almost 3 hours of parking after you tell me you are validating my parking stub when I check in for the last falconry class of the day. Katy earned her A++. The ancillary staff gets an F. Govern yourself accordingly, Broadmoor.

I am pretty sure I smiled for the entire duration of the Beginner Falconry class. Being able to see and interact with these amazingly beautiful creatures so closely was an experience I will not forget. Deanna's knowledge and passion for the falcons, hawks, owls and the sport are highly apparent and infectious. I genuinely feel honored to have had the opportunity. The only unexpected outcome is that my YouTube feed now consists solely of falconry videos. Already making plans to join the Intermediate class soon.
