Overview
A rare opportunity to see the ancient bond between man and bird. In a small group, you will interact with a variety of hawks, falcons and owls, learn their natural history and their differences, and see an unforgettable flying demonstration. The Beginners Experience culminates with a chance for you
to put on a glove and hold a trained falcon.

There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage only by their own will.

Our guide was amazing! She is so passionate about her job and is very knowledgeable, which made it fun to listen to her. She was able to answer all our questions and holding the bird at the end was a highlight. I would definitely like to to the intermediate class next.

We thoroughly enjoyed the very best bird / nature experience of our life. We were instructed by an extremely well educated (retired science teacher) and experienced "Master Falconer", Roger Tucker and his trainee Josh for a private experience. Roger is known for his charisma and desire to educate the people he is instructing. He pretty much grew up outdoors in his southern Illinois home. You can easily tell how much Roger loves his craft. We saw where the Hawks and Falcons were kept in a huge outside cage during warmer (55F for us) weather. At a remote unenclosed location, we experienced a Hawk flying in from behind us barely touching our hair as it flew by. We then stood 2ft apart and that same hawk flew right between us on it's way to Roger's gloved hand. We also got to experience the Hawk flying right to our gloved hand. We also experienced two different types of very large Owls in an inside environment. Roger held their prey and they flew separately, across to his gloved hand. Such beautiful wingspan they have. This was an extremely educational and FUN experience that I wouldn't hesitate to do again. It was WELL worth the price of admission. Dave

My husband and I were fortunate to have the Beginning Falconry course with Deanna to ourselves. Deanna was incredibly engaging and just plain nice. Her birds of pray were healthy and well taken care of. From our perspective, definitely worth the money
