Overview

A rare opportunity to see the ancient bond between man and bird. In a small group, you will interact with a variety of hawks, falcons and owls, learn their natural history and their differences, and see an unforgettable flying demonstration. The Beginners Experience culminates with a chance for you
to put on a glove and hold a trained falcon.

There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage only by their own will.

Deanna and her birds were amazing! So many cool varieties of birds of prey (owls, hawks, falcons, eagle), really neat demonstrations, and so much cool information! Loved every minute!

We did the Beginner Falconry lesson with Deanna and had a blast. It was so cool to be up close and personal with these amazing animals and Deanna is super knowledgeable. We got lucky having just the two of us in the lesson, so maybe that made it feel a little extra special, but I'm sure we would have enjoyed it even if it was a larger group. The way the hawk responded to Deanna when we got out in the field almost made it seem like we were walking a dog in the park, except for it was a hawk flying between trees. I wish we could make it back to the Broadmoor next year to do the intermediate lesson.
