See works ranging from a small Egyptian pharaoh head to an enormous Tiffany window, and discover the wonder and artistry behind glassmaking. Explore the stunning day-lit Contemporary Art + Design Wing, which houses the best of the last 25 years in glass, and a 500-seat Amphitheater Hot Shop, a space dedicated to live glass demos and design sessions. See glass created before your eyes during a live, narrated Hot Glass Demo, and be inspired to experience glassmaking for yourself during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, with projects for all ages. Choose from fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads, pulled-glass flowers, delicate blown ornaments, and seasonal projects (additional fee). The Corning Museum of Glass is now among my favorites. I had low expectations, but was blown away by the breadth and depth of the collection. We learned a lot about the history of glass, and that includes the contemporary history -- right up to the pieces from the Netflix Blown Away series (which was a nice surprise!). I want to return someday because I know I missed things and I want to see some of the collection again. It was a very windy day and as we left the shuttle bus was there so we jumped on to get back to our car. Sasha, our driver, was a complete delight! He gave us a little tour of the city center, with some historical information. Driving back to Syracuse we all agreed -- Sasha's shuttle ride was the perfect end to our first trip to Corning. We will be back!

Displays are beautiful. The live demonstrations of glass blowing were very interesting and very informative. Plan to spend 3 to 4 and maybe even five hours viewing the displays. We had lunch in the cafe. The staff there was very friendly and the food was good.

The museum is a HUGE place with lots to see. 6 hours there & we didn't see everything, so we will def be back. ♿ Accessible with some wheelchairs at entrances. Mobility impaired people def need one, so bring yours. Shuttles (every 15-20 mins) from 2 overflow FREE parking lots do have chair, scooter lifts & take you directly to ticket entrance. Highly suggest this. The artist's glass demos are all day long in diff areas & very entertaining! Map & times supplied upon entering. Massive sized CMOG store, Cafe with drinks, snacks food to order. Make your own glass is available for extra fee & spots must be reserved in advance. It is very popular & for all ages. Masks 100% required, monitored social distancing, sanitizing stations throughout. Excellent place to visit!
