This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

Excellent 3 hour tour around San Francisco with Reed and his soft-top Mini. His knowledge of the city is exceptional and you get to visit parts of the city that tour buses don't go to. I don’t usually to take time to write a review but this tour was so wonderful that I had to. My wife and I have been to San Francisco about fifteen times over the years so I was looking for something different and special. On one of the sites of things to do in SF, on about page 14, I found the Mini (Cooper type) convertible tour and contacted the site. When he (Reed) called me back I booked the four hour tour and mentioned that we were a little familiar with SF so we would like to go to other sites besides Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman’s Wharf. It was a wonderful afternoon; Presidio, Golden Gate Park, a neat spot under the Golden Gate Bridge, Baths by the beach, Twin Peaks (wow view), Haight Ashbury, mosaic stair cases, and several neighborhoods. I am hearing challenged so thought I should sit in the front seat so I could hear, but Reed had great acoustics through the car speakers so we could sit together in the back. Reed had blankets for chilly weather although we didn’t need them that day. Having a convertible was such a great way to see San francisco, no roof! Reed answered our questions and gave us lots of SF history. He gave us some great restaurant recommendations when we asked for less famous, great food, neighborhood places to eat. We ate at two of them and he was spot on. We’ll book him again next time we are in San Francisco. We reached out to Reed at 4155295404 and maybe you can try his web at smallcarbigtimetours. We had a fabulous trip around San Fransisco with Reed and his wonderful minicar. Our plane was delayed by a day and Reed was very kind and managed to change our tour date to accommodate this. HIs tour allowed us to see much of San Fransisco up close and his chat was so informative. He made it fun for the 3 of us, including our teenage son. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
