This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

Get in touch with Reed directly at 4155295404 It was a fantastic day! He offers a private tour in his cool mini Cooper convertible! He knows so much about the area and I would book him every time I visit to do a bit of a different itinerary since he knows so many different things to do in the San Fran area. Just had to say what a wonderful day we had with “ Small Cars, Big Time Tours” and Reed as our host ! My husband and I arrived in San Francisco on a Celebrity cruise ship. Our ship arrived later in the afternoon than originally expected, due to whale migration in the area. Reed was awesome at accommodating this shift in schedule. He met us at the pier in a convertible Mini Cooper right on time. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge with the top down and were off on our adventure. Reed was great and filled our request with an afternoon at a Sonoma winery called Gundlach Bundschu. The wine tasting and charcuterie was wonderful. On the way back to San Francisco, Reeds knowledge of the city he loves is most evident, as he regaled us with stories and history of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio, Lombard Street and more. We toured through the city and upon our request for the best pizza in town, Reed dropped us at Tony’s for the best pizza ever! This is a extremely easy review to write. You should do it. Small Car Big Time Tours is outstanding, Reed is very knowledgeable of the city, area and state. We drove out to Sonoma, visited a winery, tour through the city, saw many different sites and Reed did a great job of explaining everything. Also, he provides detailed communication, and information before we arrived. He will make it all about whatever you want to do. He is a true professional. I highly recommend this experience.
