This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

Reed knows SF history and architecture and also what's happening now in SF. I can't imagine anyone who is better. In his little car he zips around the city, finding places to stop so he can point out cool things and take time to tell you about them - and answer questions.. His 4 hour tour is best - I couldn't believe the time went so fast; we kept wanting more. He was also an actor in SF improve groups so he's a great talker and will make you laugh. SF is a unique city in the US and beyond. Reed’s in-depth knowledge of its peculiarities and ability to speak about them all on the spot in the most appropriate vehicle to SF geography made our tour an extremely enjoyable experience. As a general introduction for my daughter, as a better understanding of its differences for me. But we understood that he might alternatively have set up a specific tour on some or all of the Beat authors. That will be for another visit. But his talent was also to avoid long known stories and to surpris us with unknown details. Reed should compete for an award to be created : the best tour guide in the world.

I don't even know where to begin on how amazing our tour was! Our trip was a month ago and my husband and I are still raving about Reed and his Mini Coop! Our tour was completely customized to our time frame and the sights we wanted to see and we SAW IT ALL! Reed is knowledgeable of all San Francisco has to offer and knows the history of the city inside and out. I wish there was a Reed in every city, that would be the way to travel. A tour with Reed is a must if you truly want to see it all! Thank you Reed for the memories and sights! Our day spent with you was magical and unforgettable!
