This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

Reed is the best and most cost effective way to see San Fran YOUR way if there are two or three of you in your group. Not only do you get VIP custom treatment from Reed, but the pricing is by the HOUR not person, so a group of three ends up being 5 star treatment for less than booking individual tours. DO THE MATH: To book 3 people on Viator for a Sausalito/Muir Woods tour that runs $85/per person. If you also book those 3 people for the Hop On Hop Off Bus around San Fran to see the sights, that is another $59 per person so to see Muir Woods and San Fran (with a LOT of other people) would cost three people about $432. That amount is nearly 5 hours with Reed with just you and your two companions, no huge tour bus, no crowds loading and unloading, just you and him as your personal chauffeur. Math is easy. Book with Reed. We have booked with Reed twice and both times had a blast. One son and I went for 3 hours and just last week my daughter and I went for four hours, including all of San Fran and a trip up to Muir Woods. He wears a mic so you hear him clearly and he is a local that loves his city. He fills you with historical knowledge and answers all of your questions. We were surprised how he knows everyone and can get you places with his connections. He'll take your photo whenever you like and is your personal tour guide, again, for less than huge box tours you buy on the wharf. Decision should be easy. Book with Reed.

We took the two-hour tour and had a wonderful time. There were 3 of us in the mini cooper and we all fit just fine. We really appreciated the blankets that were provided to keep us warm with the windows down. We enjoyed the personal tour based on our interests as well as the rich history of the city that Reed provided. My teenage son who does not typically enjoy "tours" of a city, really enjoyed this tour with Reed.
