This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

My wife, mother in law, and I found Reed on a random web search and thought this might be a fun way to spend an afternoon in a city that can be somewhat overwhelming in all it has to do and offer. Reed asked us some questions to personalize the trip for us and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our tour included a short drive around San Francisco (including Chinatown, Lombard St, Golden Gate, etc.), but also some areas we would have otherwise not seen or discovered on our own. After that, we headed toward Sonoma wine country were Reed picked 3 wineries and a lunch spot. All were excellent and offered something a little different from each other. My advice, if you want see the City and get a more local flavor for what it has to offer call Reed at 4155295404 or his website smallcarbigtimetours. If I could do it again, I would have done it the first day we were there, as Reed also provides plenty of suggestions and a list of top places and attractions he would recommend. Very well done and professional.

Husband and I were initially thinking of just spending a few hours in S.F. before heading to Monterey. Looked at his website, smallcarbigtimetours and thought it looked just what we would want. Booked a 2 hr with Reed to hit the highlights. After reaching out to him (I contacted Reed directly at 4155295404), he sent me an amazing amount of info that was helpful in planning the rest of our day. He was so accommodating when I changed pick up and drop off locations and even offered to change our appt time to allow for us to eat before needing to get to our next thing! He asked what interested us and what we wanted him to focus on and it was PERFECT!

I really enjoyed my tour around San Francisco with Reed in his convertible Mini. Very convenient pick-up/drop-off from our hotel, Reed gives a very knowledgable talk about the city through his car audio system which I found very clear to hear and this certainly enhanced the experience.
