This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

We had the BEST tour, up and down the San Francisco hills in a convertible mini, with the very knowledgeable Reed narrating stories about the history of San Francisco, the buildings, architecture, community, geography, best places to eat, and so much more! Mention your particular interests, and Reed will plot a special route for you. We changed hotels, and Reed was happy to pick us up and drop us off at our convenience. The flexibility was awesome - need more time to take photos/shop/eat - only this Small Car Big Time Tour can do that, and all with a great sense of humor. Think custom guide/historian/comedian all in one, for a fabulously enjoyable tour. Just contact Reed now - you will not be disappointed.

I have lived in SF for 6 years, and my parents came to town to visit. They think they’ve “already seen everything” in SF from previous visits, but when I heard about this cool MINI tour, I figured at least it would be a fun way to ride around for a little while to occupy them. Long story short - this tour is awesome! My parents absolutely loved it and are still talking about it. Reed knows so much about the city, even I having lived here for a while learned a TON about SF. He is a wealth of knowledge, but also makes it super fun, and completely custom to how long you want to ride and what type of thing you want to see. Thank you Reed!! Highly, highly recommend to any visitor (or resident like me!) for a fun and unique way to see the city.

Reed is an awesome tour guide. He is a native to the area and very knowledgeable about all things San Francisco. We were able to customize the entire trip. His convertible Mini Cooper is able to traverse many streets that the large tour buses would not be able to do, plus the views are amazing. I would definitely recommend Reed!
