This tour is totally customizable – you choose the length of the tour, what time you want to be picked up, and what you want to see.

I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Plus, it's fun! In the convertible MINI Cooper, you see everything up close and personal as we drive along.

What To Expect

Coit Tower

See the murals and views the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. How much time you spend is up to you.

Painted Ladies

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Presidio of San Francisco

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

North Beach

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Lombard Street

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Chinatown

Drive through this neighborhood, and learn about its history and culture. As I talk about the architecture, you can look up an see it as we drive through in the convertible MINI Cooper.

Haight-Ashbury

Drive down the street made famous in the 1960's, and learn why the music and culture made resonated around the world.

Golden Gate Park

Drive through the park, see the museums and the Japanese Tea garden. Guests enjoy driving through and learning the history of this urban garden created on top of 1,017 acres of sand. If open, there is an opportunity to go into the observation tower of the DeYoung museum.

Twin Peaks

Experience a spectacular view of the entire city, the Bay, and if the weather is clear, bridges as far south as Silicon Valley and up near the wine country.

16 Avenue Tiled Steps

The 16th Ave Tiled steps are only part of what you can see. I can show you a lesser known but equally as impressive tiled staircase, and what these staircases looked like before they were transformed into this urban art piece.

Mission District

See Mission Dolores, the Mission Murals, and location of what may be the best burritos in city.

We enjoyed a four hour tour with Reed and his Mini Cooper S. We have been to San Francisco many times in the past and visited all the typical touristy places, Muir Woods, Alcatraz, fisherman's wharf, golden gate etc and wanted to do something different. Reed was able to offer a tour tailored to our requirements and showed us the parts of San Francisco we have missed in the past. Reed is vey knowledgeable and has a great understanding of the local history, architecture and the politics. Next time we visit we have got lots of great ideas of new things to do and see. It is not a cheap experience but it represented excellent value.

We had a fabulous tour with Reed in his great racing green mini convertible car! The tour was first class!!! Reed is a wonderful host and tour guide.....there is nothing that he doesn’t know about San Francisco and the city history! Reed is very flexible and will provide an amazing personalised tour to you specific requirements! Reed is a warm, friendly and lovely guy who gives his most to ensure you have a wonderful tour and see San Francisco from a different perspective... My 13-year old daughter and I spent a delightful afternoon with Reed. He had an incredible amount of knowledge about so many varied bits of San Francisco history and was an engaging storyteller. While we had a rough plan for the afternoon, he suggested a couple things along the way that we truly enjoyed (Lucas Films office at the Presidio!). I loved the private tour aspect that allowed us to go where we wanted, rather than on a set list. Also, Reed is not one of those annoying tour guides who talks non-stop, but he doles out stories here & there & then gives you quiet time to look around & enjoy. I would recommend Reed if you're in town on a business trip & want someone to show you around solo, or if you're on a family trip with kids - because you can adjust the activities & stops to what your kids enjoy. This was well worth the extra money over a big tour bus (plus...you can actually SEE things in the mini cooper).
