As well, you'll be accompanied by a guide well-versed in the area History, Flora & Fauna and geologic formation of the Great lakes and Dune formations. Sleeping Bear is fantastic in and of itself, but having a guide to explain everything from the Native Tribes that once roamed the area, to the geologic forces that leave us with the Great Lakes we know today, greatly enhances ours guests visit to Sleeping Bear. Oh, and guests rave about our catered lunch. It's delicious!

Walking is required to access the vista at Empire Bluffs. The trail is designated as "Easy". Expect to walk 1.5 miles over a dirt and sand Trail.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

A guided tour of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Tour includes round trip transportation from Traverse City with snacks and drinks provided. Stops include an easy walk out to Empire Bluffs, Scenic Pierce Stocking Drive, Lake Michigan overlook, Glen Lke overlook, Sleeping Bear Dune overlook, Lunch on the beach in the village of Empire, Dune Climb, Historic Village of Glen Haven and Glen Arbor.

The Michigan Lake overview, the shipwreck, and view of the lighthouse with Matt’s bird scope. We also enjoyed the town of Glen Haven and history of coast guard. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Sleeping Bear Dunes and Michigan history and geology.

Relaxing and thorough tour of Pure Michigan/ Sleeping Bear Dunes! Our guide. Matt, provided fun yet expert knowledge of the region! He also moved us along at a pace that accommodates all.

This was probably the best trip we've ever been on for any vacation. You will definitely get your money's worth! Matt was incredible and the day we went we actually had a small group, in fact just one other person and she too was amazing. It was an incredible day for weather as well. Matt took us to the nicest spots, he made us feel like family and when we come back to Traverse City, we would do this tour again. Thank you so much, Up North Tours!
