For over 20 years we have provided the most unique and eco-friendly dolphin and whale watching trips to view magnificent Blue Whales, Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, and occasionally Orcas (Killer Whales), Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales, and more. Five species of wild dolphins are also seen throughout the year, including mega-pods with up to 10,000 dolphins! Plus sea lions, marine birds, and even sharks. You'll depart from Dana Point, home to one of the most diverse marine eco-systems in the world. We had a wonderful time! It was my grandson’s first time on a boat in the ocean and he had a blast! The large pods of Common Dolphins were so much fun to follow! Capt. Chuck and his crew - Stacy, Hannah and Matt - were amazing — so professional and fun. We can’t wait to come back and take another trip! Highly recommended!

The staff at Dave’s is always great, they are very efficient, and they really try to make the experience a great one. We love watching the entire school of dolphins around the boat, and we all got a chance to step down into the viewing pod to see them under the water. They are very safety conscious; the boats are great—we’ve been with them now five or six times, and every experience has been terrific.

My husband, daughters (ages 10&12), and I had a wonderful experience with Captain Dave's! We were able to cruise with a vast pod of Common Dolphins, experience blue whale flukes and blows, and even came across more dolphins and sea lions on our way back to the harbor. The captain and crew were informative, friendly, and enthusiastic. The catamaran and viewing pods were great. There was plenty of room with seating areas for the more tame and "sea-sensitive" guests and areas for the more adventurous and "sea-going". Customer service is spot on too. From the personal phone call confirmation I received the day after booking to the brownies we were handed upon return, service was exceptional. Well done.
