Dark History Tour In New Orleans

Overview
Ghosts, legends, and dark history – this is our most popular tour – a walk through the streets of the Old French Quarter, hearing the history of our city through the stories of its restless dead, it’s old legends, it’s great disasters, and unsolved murders. The stories are those that define our city and it’s people and most unsettling, it all really happened! The only tour in the city to focus on the Dark History of New Orleans--the things that made us what we are, but which the city council would just as soon not have you know! Led by pre-Katrina tour guides, and the only company in the city who features people who were licensed pre-Katrina and residents for decades.

My aunt and I took this tour in early July 2020. It was so hot that the other two couples found shelter else where, and we were the only ones left on the tour. The three of us wandered the street, entranced by this man, Johnathan, and the history he shared with us. We found ourselves on the banks of the Mississippi river thinking about the fires that had happened and the ghost of the past. Johnathan was wonderful and I was happy to have met him and glad he was available.

Jonathan was great! We had such a fun time on the tour and learnt a lot about the dark history of New Orleans, walked around the french quarter, and visited the oldest bar in America. We signed up for another tour the next day - the cemetery tour. Cindy was our tour guide and Jonathon also joined us! They're both a laugh, super knowledgable about the city, and so passionate about their story telling and New Orleans. Support this local business and get in on the local gossip :)

We did the Dark History and Haunted Ghost tour with Jonathan and we had an amazing time. Jonathan is incredibly knowledgeable about NOLA's dark past and brings the stories to life in a way few are ever able to. I felt that we got a very dark glimpse into New Orleans' past and a peek into the future of a city that is losing it's unique flavor to those that want to make it generically boring. Jonathan brought many personal stories into the tour and also offered recommendations on places to go see, shop at, and eat at that are authentic to NOLA (we went to several and weren't disappointed). When we were on the tour, we saw several tour groups and their guides lacked the enthusiasm and knowledge that Jonathan brought to our tour. I also talked to some bartenders at a couple of our stops and they said Jonathan is the best and their favorite to work with. Go on Jonathan's tours. You will not be disappointed.
