Beautiful island! Enjoyed the boat ride and history/ guide by Pete. We loved the serene atmosphere of having no noise on the island. Highly recommend the tour and Pete as a guide. So much history and beauty on the island.

Our adventure into the history & culture led by Captain John was phenomenal. His knowledge of & passion for this community made our trip beyond enjoyable. I strongly recommend Outside record him on this trip for those who might be interested in this community but arenā€™t able to travel. His story telling ability needs to be celebrated. Anyone who is interested in learning about the Gullah community should make time for this trip. Thank you Outside Hilton Head for offering this opportunity. First Union African Baptist Church has amazing history & Mary Field School may be familiar to those whoā€™ve seen the movie ā€œ The Water is Wideā€

Leaving from the beautiful and conveniently located Shelter Cove Marina, Capt. Pete took us by boat to Daufuskie Island and by golf cart around the Island. It is the southernmost inhabited sea island in South Carolina, accessible only by water -- between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. Fascinating history, gullahs, indigo, churches, cemeteries, schools, oysters, dolphins, water fowl. Memorable day. This was one of the best tours of a charming island we have ever had! Captain Pete was an awesome tour guide with a gift of gab and fascinating stories.

"This was one of the best tours of a charming island we have ever had! Captain Pete was an awesome tour guide with a gift of gab and fascinating stories." Captain Pete loves all aspects of Daufuskie life and enjoys sharing it with guests. So glad your experience was a 5-star. I'm sure those Daufuskie stories are ones you'll share for years!
