We loved our tour to Daufuskie with Captain Andy Kennedy. It was a great escape from the realities of the coronavirus pandemic. Capt. was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna, the history of Daufuskie and South Carolina. He explained a lot of the Gullah culture and architecture. We were able to see some dolphins and many birds. The indigo artisans were open and the woman explained the process and showed us her beautiful creations which are also available for purchase. The island was peaceful and quaint with so much history. Our tour was nearly 5 hours and worth the cost. There were a total of 8 women on the tour. Most of us older with my 30 year old daughter the exception. We were divided onto 2 golf carts on the island and we made many stops along the way to visit some of the sites. An easy tour for those who don't get around as easilybut kids would love it, too.

Although I have been a SC resident for over 40 years, I was shocked to find out how much I didn't know. Our guide Andy Kennedy was superb in every way. He was both knowledgeable and consistent with his delivery. I did feel bad for a few people who did not understand that riding on water can be chilly. Probably should mention this on the website.

This was a fun and informative tour. From the moment we left Shelter Cove Captain Pete was a wealth of interesting facts. So many nice little touches to make the tour more interesting, like reading from the Gullah language Bible in their Church. You could tell he had a real respect for the history and culture of the people. Would highly recommend.
