Excellent tour!! Captain Pete was awesome!!! Very knowledgeable about the island and surrounding area. Great listening to the history of the Gullah & Geechee. Iron Works and Indigo were great local artisans. Wonderful talents!! Highly recommended. Not for younger children.

My husband and best friend took the tour with Captain Pete yesterday. Everything about the tour was wonderful. Thank you so much for going out with our small group of three, much appreciated!! We loved the boat rides to and from the island piloted by the very capable, passionate, and informative Captain Pete! The tour of the island was wonderful and the golf cart was the perfect way to get around and learn about the history of the Low-country, Early and Native Americans and the Gullah culture. We loved seeing the many historical sites and buildings, as well as learning about the making of Indigo dye and seeing some beautiful handmade items made by the locals. We were impressed by the beautiful items at the Iron Fish Gallery. Peteā€™s passion and heart for the island and its people was evident, as he shared a part of his wealth of knowledge with us as we toured on a beautiful sunny afternoon. I would 100% recommend taking this tour if you get a chance. We knew very little about the island or culture prior to our tour, so we were excited to learn about it. Pete did a wonderful job of educating us on both the history and present day happenings of both Hilton Head and Daufuskie Islands! I have the utmost respect for the Gullah culture, and am inspired by their resilience, spiritual beliefs, hard work, and community mindset.
