What To Expect

Daufuskie Island

It begins with a boat ride from Shelter Cove Marina to the back side of Daufuskie Island. The ride is an important part of the tour! Along the way we will stop for dolphins and other wildlife, plus view and discuss the sites on Daufuskie and the neighboring islands that are best seen from the water. Once on Daufuskie, you'll get on golf carts and take a tour of the historic, undeveloped side of the island. We stop at all of the significant historic sites and artisan shops of Daufuskie.

Our group of four adults thoroughly enjoyed the tour to Daufuskie Island with Captain Andy Kennedy of Outside Hilton Head. It was great advice to wear several layers of clothes for the hour-long boat ride to the island, plus we were glad we packed lunch to have on our own. Captain Andy gathered us near the marina kiosk about 15 minutes prior to departure for some introductory and safety information. We boarded the boat and departed right on time. The ride to the island was fun itself, but the golf cart tour on the island was even more fun and educational. Do not skip this opportunity!

The tour was fantastic with Captain Andy! The boat was safe and spotless! Dress warmer for the ride than you think! We loved the history and out day at Daufuskie!
