I was very happy that I took this carriage ride. The horse was very well trained and the Guide gave an extensive history of Charleston, the architecture ,the different neighborhoods of the city and the cultural influence of England and the Caribbean on the architecture and traditions.Had I stayed longer I would have gladly taken the tour again. Only thing I didn’t understand is that the actual route is chosen by a lottery system from the city so that the carriage tour doesn’t Interfere with the traffic flow. So this means if I took another tour I could get the same route.

Chicks do Palmetto Carriage Works. Palmetto Carriage Works is by far the premier carriage company in Charleston, and I'd say in the US. I cannot say enough about the wonderful service, exemplary tour guide and the overall great experience. Staff were more than accommodating and friendly, the barn spotless and the mules so well cared for and adorable! I would recommend this experience as a must do when in Charleston. Barbara A
