This was a fun adventure! The vehicle was cool, the environment was beautiful, and Stephen was funny. We would do it again.

You’ll voyage in a cool military vehicle with a name you probably can’t pronounce down a trail made famous by tragedy. We didn’t see any wildlife, and the guides explained to us that National Geographic has done this breathtaking part of Alaska a disservice by making it seem like wildlife exists around every corner when it really doesn’t. In fact we learned that only those long tours into the National Park on a bus (which this company offered to sell us) usually see animals. Still - the views and the history were amazing. It’s quiet out there in a place so far removed from civilization my family and I could barely comprehend it. The ride is fun too! Stephen provided a great amount of knowledge of the area. On the way back Travis told us stories of the long dark of winter in this part of the world. The company, Stampede Excursions, is locally owned - a great thing to support in a place slowly being eaten away at by large corporations. They also serve as a great “one stop shop” as after this tour they were able to provide information and reservations for a wide variety of other tours.

I had a great time on this tour even with the rain trying to ruin the fun. We may not have seen very many animals (only got to see a fox!) but our tour guid Stephen was excellent he was nice, friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable of the trail. If I get the opportunity to come back too Alaska I would come back again and take this tour!
