Denali National Park
Instead of the big bus tours, explore the park your way! Take a selfie at the park sign, explore the Denali National Park Visitor Center, tour historic buildings, venture down hiking trails, and visit the park’s own sled dogs at the Denali kennels. Traversing the  the entire accessible road to the Savage River affords views of Denali (Mount McKinley) as well as frequent sightings of moose, caribou, bears, and a myriad of other critters. Expect a 40 mile round trip which allows extra time for exploring the park’s attractions.
3
Denali Highway
Before the “new” highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks was finished in the 1970’s, the Denali Highway stretching from Paxson to Cantwell was the only way to reach Denali National Park by road. Still just a seldom-traveled gravel roadway today, it is renowned for picturesque alpine landscapes and untouched wilderness. This scenic byway was recently ranked #2 worldwide as the “Drive of a Lifetime” by National Geographic Traveler magazine. Besides the ability to view Denali (Mount McKinley) from numerous points, travelers will likely see wildlife along the route. Expect an 80 mile round trip.

I booked this thinking that this would allow me to get further into Denali park where public vehicles are not able to go. This is not the case. Only buses are able to get further into the park. We did one of the recommended drives, it wasn’t bad, but we could have done it in our own (rental) vehicle. The drive from Anchorage to Denali was just as nice. If you don’t have a vehicle and want to drive around outside of the park, this may be something to do. But if you have your own vehicle, you don’t need this, or want to go into the park, you’ll need to get on the bus. For us, it wasn’t a good use of our time or money. Please note that the actual rental and service was fine. It just wasn’t what we thought it would be.

Great opportunity to take a drive and see the sights for four hours. Unfortunately to really get into Denali you have to take a Bus Tour. Heard they are good but for us sitting on a School Bus for 6, 9, or 12 hrs didn't trip our trigger. The Jeep gave us a better timed option for us and ability to go elsewhere.

Very easy way to see sights around Denali National Park. Team provides recommended routes. Note that the Jeeps have same travel restrictions within the Park as other personal vehicles. We saw moose, beavers, and wonderful vistas.
