Overview

“Vera Marie” raises the bar for fishing head boats “Party Boats”. She runs two fishing trips per day during the season and 1 trip per day during the off season when available. She is also excellent for corporate parties, holiday events, family reunions, weddings, bachelor/ette parties and more. The Vera Marie is a 70′ walk-around. She also has a Sun Deck, large Air-Conditioned salon and restrooms.

This is my first time On a party boat and it was a great experience. I have been on a private charter before and this seems to be a better deal for the money. All the crew members were great and took off our fish right away. They also filleted them at the end for no extra charge. Overall a great time and experience.

Well we were excited to do this trip. Went parasailing day before with Pelican Adventures and had fantastic experience. But today was quite the opposite. Today was more of a boat ride than fishing. Boat was way overcrowded and there were poles/anglers every 2 feet all around the boat. I don't know how they expect people to not get tangled in each other's lines. But we did .... often. And everytime we would need help getting unstuck our crew member would say "Again??!" Well duh? Of course we are. We spent more time getting untangled and moving boat around than fishing. Then our crew member informed us there was something wrong with the linkage from front cabin to back and that captain had to keep physically moving himself to position boat correctly. So all this extra time spent positioning could've been time we could have fished more!!! Disappointed entirely. Next time we try deep sea fishing it will not be with this many people. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra to fish on a less crowded boat. Oh...our bait was horrible. After getting warm the fish no longer held together to put on the hooks. We only caught 6 keepable fish. Did not hang around afterwards to get fish filleted because they were cutting entirely too much fish off of other people's fish. We called it a day and just left.

Party boat/ head boat fishing is multi-passenger trips that are designed for an economical day on the water. The low price of the trip is because of the number of passengers, dividing the low cost for fuel, crew, fishing expenses (bait, equipment, permits, licensing) etc.. Private fishing charters and shared trips are more of a financial investment because there are fewer people to cover the same costs.
