Distillery Tour

Overview
Join us for a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City’s iconic distillery, located in the historic Electric Park neighborhood of the East Bottoms district. Discover the history of our brand, from its founding during the wild and raucous years when the city boasted “the wettest block in the world”, to its premature demise at the dawn of Prohibition, and eventual revival in 2014, nearly a century later.

Enjoy extensive access to each phase of the distillation process, from grain to bottle. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our four core products led by one of our knowledgeable guides.

The tour was very interesting and informative. Our tour guide as great. He provided all the necessary information and answered all questions. They did a great job in renovating an old building into one that is modern and pristine. My husband especially enjoyed the history that is tied into this distillery. I’m not even a drinker yet I really enjoyed this tour. Note: You must wear closed toe shoes to participate in tour and those under 21 can only go on the 11 am or 12:30 pm tours. All tours after that are only available to those 21 and over.

Went with a friend after the Royals 5K earlier in the day. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the tour was amazing. Well worth the $15 plus tax or whatever it was. The gin was the winner for me, but it’s like picking your favorite child. Can not recommend enough. Upstairs space is beautiful. Go out there and experience for yourself before the rest of the region beats you to it.

My husband, myself and my in laws went to the tour yesterday. We have wanted to go for years and am glad that we were able to go once the new facilities were open. The tour was a 10/10, several of the distillers were there which was a fun surprise. The tasting room and historical area are a must. My only wish is that they were in a different location than the east bottoms but the history of the building makes sense that it is located where it is. Maybe it’s time for more places to move in and open up the east bottoms also. We will definitely go back and are looking forward to their releases from their location. A must see!
