My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our Dog Sledding and Mushing Experience with Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service. First and foremost, Annie who worked the front desk was amazing. Very professional, courteous, and polite with answering my questions prior to booking. She returned my calls promptly given that I was visiting from California and traveling with my 2 young daughters ages 7 and 10. Since we were a family of 4, we were split into 2 groups with our own musher. My oldest daughter and I were privileged to have Matt Hall as our musher! He is an all around champion who was competed in several races such as the Copper Basin Sled Dog Race and the Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race. He placed 2nd this year in the Yukon Quest Dog Race. So, my daughter and I were so lucky to have him. Matt was very humble, friendly and personable. He answered all our questions regarding his beautiful sled dogs and his experiences as a musher. Our dog sledding ride was tons of fun. We had 9 dogs pull us and our sled was quite comfortable. As for my husband and younger daughter, their musher was Luther. He was just as friendly and personable as Matt. My husband said Luther was very good at explaining and talking about his own race dogs and his experiences as a musher. I noticed that the mushers take such pride in caring for their dogs. It was so cute to see the sled dogs all ran with mini booties on all their paws. All the dogs were amazing. They were very friendly and my daughters had so much fun petting them and interacting with them. Hands down, I highly recommend Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service for THE BEST sled dog mushing experience in Alaska. You won’t regret it!!!

Our dog sledding excursions are much more than a ride in a dogsled. We provide commentary/ education about caring for the amazing Alaskan Huskies. The Alaskan Husky is very different than your house pet. Thank you for the review.

All of the guides/mushers love sharing stories about the 4 legged friends. We ask guests to ask lots of questions to learn about care and the joy of owning Alaskan Huskies. Thank you for the review.

I believe this review is for a different company. All of our dog sledding tours stop specifically for our guests to pet and take pictures with their team of Alaskan Huskies. You can look at the thousands of guest photos to see our dogs are not skinny. Please contact me directly [email protected] to have this review moved to the correct company.
