We at Dolphin Research Tours have reinvented the ecotour.

We provide real expertise.
We have been studying the dolphin communities in southwest Florida for 16 years. No other tour can provide as thorough an understanding of the local dolphins.

We respect the wildlife.
Coastal dolphins are under increasing pressure from human interaction. On a Dolphin Research Tour, you are part of the solution, not part of the problem.

We engage kids.
Kids are not just along for the ride. We've developed a fun 'citizen-science' activity for children that lets them be a scientist for the day.

We give back.
During each trip we collect sighting data for The Dolphin Study, a non profit working to protect Marco Island's dolphins.

What a wonderful trip! We ‘met’ so many dolphins, guided by the lovely crew of Kent and Robyn.. and Kent knows most of them by name!! They made the trip both fun and hugely informative.The boat too is very comfortable. We explored some of the quiet backwaters and beaches where we were the only boat around. Highly recommended.

Kent and Robin shared their passion with an engaging education on the local dolphins. We had frontside seats to pods of dolphins playing and feeding but never were they in danger or crowded. They actually came toward the boat. It was so relaxing and quiet! Kent has an amazing photo collection which identifies each dolphin by their dorsal fin. He knows their age and stories. His underwater mic allowed us to hear the dolphins communicating with each other. They were on time with an immaculate boat and allowed us time to look for shells. Robin is an accomplished and knowledgeable captain who navigated the tides and choppy waters so smoothly. We will absolutely do this again! We received bonus photos of the family; Kent is an avid photographer. An afternoon and money very well spent!!!

Great experience. Kent was a great captain and guide. Very knowledgeable and super kid friendly. We saw over 15 dolphins up close. Highly recommend.
