Kicking it old school. I loved that a live person gave this tour and not a recorded message. It’s so much better when the person speaking talks about the city they live in. Loved that. Wish it was still this way in every city I have taken the Hop on hop off. I took away a mark because it was winter and there was no heat and the bus needed a facelift. The person speaking from the second level did so with no protection from the wind and cold. The wind in the microphone made it hard to hear them. A small enclosed area upstairs would be good as would a door to the upstairs like in other countries so that the cold was not coming down the stairs. The lower level windows had screening from the sun so you can’t really see out of them. I was lucky enough to sit by the driver where there were no screens so I had a good view. The tour was great. The bus needs improvements. lol the city is beautiful.

Philadelphia is a small city, walkable. I’ve used the hop on hop off in many cities and used the service to get around. With the Philadelphia experience I rode the route once and that’s it. Definitely not worth getting more than 1 day. The guide was informative so you did get to know what you were seeing. Buses are not as frequent in the winter months, 1 an hour, also if you’re travelling on the top deck they have a perspex cover to keep out the cold which does impede your views, on the plus side you’re not freezing
