How much do locals in Asheville love beer? Well, apparently, so much that the city boasts roughly 100 local beers in town. Served on both draft and in bottles. Thatās actually more breweries per capita than any city in the U.S. So without batting an eyelash, we knew we had to do a legit Asheville Brewery Tour. And glad we took one with the BREW-ed team!
It's about a 2 hour tour in 2 locations (meetup in Hi-Wire and end up in Catawba Brewing). Our guide, Cliff, was obviously very knowledgable about all that needs to be learned about beer. He was prompt, courteous, and even gave extra tips on local bars and restaurants to try in Asheville. Just wonderful! We later on found out that BREW-ed Asheville Brewery Tour is the cityās only expert led brewery tour. In fact, itās recognized as one of the top 15 food tours in the world. Overall worth the money!
Just a pro-tip: We loved that the tour was generous with the servings of the beer, pouring samples everytime a new type is discussed. But I do recommend anyone taking the tour to have a decent amount of lunch or snacks beforehand and the drinking spills into dinner time (no picas/snacks served during the tour). :)
