This was my 3rd or 4th visit to Asheville, but my sister's very first one. I wanted to do something different and fun, but at the same time, something that would introduce us to the city. Cliff, our guide, did an outstanding job! This tour was so much more than just a tour or an education on beer and how it's made. I've been to other brewery tours before, but this one was fun, interactive, and very educational; not just about beer either. We actually learned some history of the city, too!! This is perfect for any beer enthusiast and I highly recommend using BREW-ed walking tours. We went on the mid-day one, but I heard the evening one was just as good and lasts a little longer. But, this one was perfect for what I wanted and it started our visit to Asheville off on the right foot!! It was definitely more than I expected!! Totally recommend it!!

Cliff does a fantastic job on this tour. You visit multiple local breweries and learn about the brewing process, the economics, the politics, and the culture of beer. You also take in a good bit of Asheville history and architecture information. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed all three hours and will absolutely do this again next time in town.

If you love beer or want to love beer, this is a wonderful tour. But be prepared that at 3 hours you may start to feel tired or want to move on to another activity. For me personally, I think 2 hours was my limit - but I am not the most avid beer drinker/aficionado. Cliff was fantastic - super knowledgeable about beer, Asheville, and breweries - local, regional and national. His enthusiasm was contagious. If you have a free afternoon and want to add a little color to your Asheville visit, this tour is for you. At $50 it seemed expensive, but we got 10 generous tastings and a lot of information.
