After meeting your foodie guide at the first restaurant location in downtown Charleston, you will begin your walking tour and visit 3-4 restaurants, where you'll sample dishes at each, and then a final stop for dessert. Each visit lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll be seated to rest your legs. For most people, the amount of food served is enough for a meal. As you enjoy walking through this historical section of the city, listen to stories about Charleston's culture and cuisine from your guide, who points out landmarks along your route. This wonderful experience will end within walking distance of your starting point. *Please advise about Allergies in the ( Special Requirements section) during check out! *Dietary restrictions need to be communicated at least 24 hours in advance to be accommodated *Unfortunately we can not accommodate Vegan, Dairy Free or Soy Free diets

We were fortunate to have Patrick D. as our guide. An 8th generation Charlestonian he was a wealth of knowledge about the city and shared personal stories of his family. But he is also a foodie and had great recipe tips. He will be moving to CA soon, however. We walked to 4 different restaurants that were close enough that the walk was easy and we stopped at historical sights along the way. The first 2 restaurants were the best - Poogan's Smoke House and Paw Paw. Poongan's had the best cornbread and the barbecue sliders were excellent. Paw Paw did a great job with vegetables and truffle fries. Also thought the decor for both restaurants, although completely different, was really appealing. Eli's was a weaker choice with true southern cuisine but not the best we had in the city. Toast was the dessert choice and this was the weakest of the 4 restaurants. They gave us samples of 3 desserts but they weren't anything extra.. We would return to the first 2 restaurants, not the last two. I would still recommend this tour as a fun introduction to Charleston, and finding two good restaurants was well worth it.

We always enjoy finding a local food tour because it's a good way to learn about an area and its history. While the food at our 4 stops was good, our tour guide didn't add much to the experience. It was his last tour with the company and he used it like his personal farewell tour.

Excellent mix of history and culinary traditions. Charley our guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining. The variety of food at the four stops gives good insight into low country cooking.
