I had walked through Freemont Street last year, but just strolled around. This tour is for anyone who wants to learn more about downtown Las Vegas. Our guide, Kelly, brought the past to life with historical information about every hotel/casino. Who knew Back to the Future 2 was shot partially in Las Vegas? From the past, the tour moves to to the present and we learn that the downtown area is rapidly becoming the new Silicon Valley. The tour ends in Container Park, which is quite unique. Highly recommend this tour.

I've been coming to Las Vegas for nearly 30 years now, well before there was a roof over Freemont Street, and well before downtown Las Vegas/Freemont felt safe to explore like it does now. It is so great to see all the changes made to the area in the past few years, and Las Vegas Walking tours not only gave me new insight to the area's past, but a preview to where it is headed! Our tour guide Kelly was well informed, and knew his stuff. He came prepared with photos of the area over the decades, which were great to see! He provided everyone on the tour with a little headset to make sure we could all hear him over the bustle that is Freemont Street. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour! I highly recommend it, but I would suggest you take this tour at the start of your visit to Las Vegas, rather than on your last day there like we did, and plan to leave yourself a few hours, if not the day, afterwards. I really wish we had time to go off and explore some of the great places Kelly told us about after the tour. They even provide you with some coupons for businesses in the area, I would have liked to have used. Guess I will have to save that for my next trip! Take this tour! I bet you'll learn something new about Las Vegas! I know I did!

Having lived in Las Vegas, I thought I knew a fair amount of its history but boy, was I wrong! Kelly provided so much information and history about the founding of Las Vegas up to the recent Renaissance of the Downtown area and sprinkled in many interesting and amusing anecdotes. I walked away with a comprehensive view of this hidden gem and some great advice about restaurants and place to go. He has all the insider tips on how to experience the downtown without breaking your budget (like on the Strip) and even provided a cool map so you could retrace your steps and do a more in depth visit to the locations he spoke about. The tour was very affordable and was a lot of fun!! Highly recommended - especially for the first day or two you are in Las Vegas, it provides a great Downtown overview and helps you plan what you want to see for the duration of your stay.
