My husband and I took this tour on a Saturday in mid-July. There were some events happening in town, so the traffic was a bit hard to navigate. We met the tour at our first stop where we had a delicious coffee drink that we both enjoyed. We meandered through downtown to our next stop which was a speakeasy for a cocktail and a rice/barbacoa bowl. Next was to Post for a slice of pizza and cocktail. This is where things took a turn for the worse. We had two people on our tour who were underage. Apparently in Alabama (or Mobile?) You aren't allowed into drinking establishments if under 21. Therefore, they put us out in front of the restaurant with no shade where it was in the high 90s. We waited for over an hour there to get one slice of pizza. My husband and I abandoned the group to sit inside for a while, but our tour guide was a trooper and stuck it out outside. By the time we were done at that location, people were hot and irritated. We made it to Moe's BBQ for two wings and a rib. Our tour guide wasn't feeling well after the Post fiasco and had another person take over. We made it to our last stop which was a beignet place. We ate our beignet and everyone immediately left as we were already 30-45 minutes over time. I suspect that our experience was not one you would normally experience, but it was pretty awful. It seemed unorganized and for the amount of money, I felt the food was not food-tour worthy.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts here, there’s a lot to unpack but ultimately I am the one responsible for a lot of what you mentioned so I want to apologize to you for the poor experience. The worst mistake I made on Saturday was allowing the two underrage guests to come. I didn’t find out until late Friday they would be attending so I instructed that family, our team, and restaurants that those two would be sitting outside where needed. There was obviously some miscommunication because the rest of the group was supposed to sit inside especially in mid-July. I take responsibility for the poor miscommunication and from this point forward on our tour, if it’s a 21+ tour, no one under 21 will be allowed under any circumstance. In our five years of giving tours, Saturday was not our best, a lot of things were out of our control like you mentioned but as an organization we learned a lot. I was proud of the team work our team showed on Saturday. Having one of our other tour guides step in was not ideal, but I’m happy to say she is doing fine now. Lastly, thank you again for sharing this with me and helping us improve our customer experience on the tour. I like to think we nail the experience 99% of the time. We’ve had hundreds of five star reviews here and I hear hundreds of word of mouth reviews that reflect that and I’m so sorry you were in that 1% this time.

My favorite part was everything… from beginning to end. All the restaurants were fabulous! Good food… plenty to eat. Its was obvious that Bienville Bites had everything well planned. Isabel, our guide was so knowledgeable of the Mobiles history. Was a great hostess!
