My husband, sister, niece, friend and I did the LoDa Stroll bites Food tour Friday afternoon with a great tour guide, Lanie. We had never been to Mobile and usually avoid downtown areas when we travel. But, we were so glad that we did this experience. LoDa Stroll was easy to schedule and find. Parking was easy in the parking structure across the street for $13.00. But, parking was available on the street with parking meters. We met on a covered outdoor area of a restaurant where we were served Gumbo in about a cup portion. A beautiful young Lady, Lanie, told us what to expect on the walking tour and began telling us about the history of Gumbo. There were several small groups in the tour including an adolescent who seemed to enjoy the entire tour and food. The walk was easy by several historic locations where we learned some history. Our next stop was at Panini Pete’s where we had delicious small sandwiches and beignets. They told us about the beignet twist. We were instructed to take a bite which was the best desert I’ve ever had. Then to squeeze a little of the accompanying lemon on it and take another bite. It was even better. We went to several other nearby places where we were served excellent small bites of their specialties. The area was beautiful with stunning architecture. We felt comfortable on the streets and would recommend this tour to everyone.

This tour was very interesting and the food was good. Laney, our tour director, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We went to seven different places and the food was good at all of them. The history of Mobile was great. I’d definitely recommend this to friends.
