The young man and lady picked us up on the dock with a van towing the boat and right on time. They aparently take turns as the oarsman in the zodiak type boat. The ride down the river was a beautiful experience and we saw several bald eagles, derspite being early for the huge gathering of our national bird in the sanctuary. We recomend warm and preferably water proof coat and pants as there is splashing from the river. Everyone was provided with rubber boots before entering the boat.
This small tour operator is very aware of the time one needs to be back at the ship and there was no concern we would miss the boat
We recomend this as an excellent alternative to the tour organized by Holland America which was sold out long before the cruise

Just fabulous. Our guide Pat was a native of Haines and was full of wonderful historical and current facts. He was also an amazing rafter. I'm not sure if this was his the company he worked for, but all the float trips at the Chilkat Bald Eagle preserve must be incredible because of the sites and sensations, and a great guide tops it off!
