Overview

3 Hour Paddle

We begin our 3 hour paddle of the West Thumb Geyser basin at 8:30 AM. We will traverse 3 miles of wilderness with the opportunity to view active geyser features along the way. Paddling along the shoreline allows for the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Elk are often spotted in Grant Village and sometimes other mammals such as bears and wolves frequent the lake area. A variety of bird species are spotted daily and the water is clear enough to see the native Cutthroat Trout as big as your arm if you're lucky enough. ;) The fish can get quite large in Yellowstone Lake.

Maddi and Tiffany guided us on a lovely morning paddle on Lake Yellowstone. Our guides were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and capable. The tour was long enough to make you feel like you were doing something, but not the slightest bit overwhelming for anyone in the group. And, the day and surroundings were perfect. Definitely would recommend.

What a wonderful experience. Jason took us (grandparents, 2 adults and 2 kids under 7) for a truly fantastic day out on the lake. Learnt so much and getting to picnic on a secluded beach in Yellowstone was a true once in a lifetime experience. Will also never forget going past the geyser and seeing all the sites. Highly recommend as a special treat to really make your trip memorable.

We had a great time on our mid morning kayak tour. We went with our three children, ages 11 nine and seven. Tiffany and Allen were great guides, and we’re especially great at keeping the kids engaged during the whole tour. Seeing the geyser basin from the lake was a unique experience.
