Early Myrtle Beach History and The WWII Years Trolley Tour

Overview
If you are already familiar with the general history of the Myrtle Beach that we know today, but want to delve deeper into the city's beginnings and specifically during the years of the second world war, this trolley tour may interest you. It shares Myrtle Beach's origin story and tells what it was like to live there during WWII with U-boat threats off the coast and the arrival of German POWs. It makes stops at Myrtle Beach's first golf course, Pine Lakes International Country Club, and the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum. Guests gather in front of the Grand 14 Theater at The Market Common to begin boarding at 9:45 AM. The trolley is enclosed and climate-controlled. If you would like more of an introduction to the city's history, you may enjoy the Myrtle Beach History, Movies and Music trolley tour. Both tours were created to compliment each other in order to give guests a more comprehensive look at Myrtle Beach's past. GUESTS MUST BE AT LEAST 3 YEARS OLD FOR THIS TOUR.

Our narrator knew her stuff, had good information and was great at telling the story. The trolly was clean, temperature controlled and kinda neat. What was disappointing was the tour... most places in the stories are long gone and the narrator just pointed in a direction of where things used to be. There is one old original house and we just stopped on the road and looked in that direction. We stopped at a historic club house at a golf course that was very pretty. We also stopped at a very small museum that was neat but so many of us in a small space made it hard to look at displays.

This tour takes you on a deeper dive into Myrtle Beach history, as the description states, if you already have a general knowledge of Myrtle Beach history. Our Tuesday tour relates more to what is here now and this tour tells the story of what used to be here in the last century. As suggested in the tour description, you may prefer the Tuesday tour. Thanks for your kind words. I pour my heart and soul into these tours that I created to share my hometown's stories.

Been visiting Myrtle Beach for over 45 years and learning so much new info during this tour. Very entertaining and the time on the tour flew by. Will definitely do again and other tours offered by same company.

It is such a pleasure to share our history with guests who know Myrtle Beach well. Many people have never been to the Pine Lakes Country Club or even know that the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum exists. Thank you for including this experience during your time here and it be great to have you on any of the other three tours.
