What To Expect

Pure Florida
The journey begins aboard the M/V Naples Explorer at Tin City which was originally a hub for fishing, clamming, and shellfish in the 1920s.  Today it is a thriving marketplace where you’ll find over 30 unique shops and restaurants. Once the captain has sounded the horn 4 times, it’s time to leave the dock.  As you begin the leisurely cruise down the Gordon River, past Crayton Cove, and through Naples Bay, you might think to yourself this is not an eco-tour because the river is lined with yacht clubs and exclusive communities like Port Royal where million dollar mansions are the norm. Even though it may seem like a tour of the rich and famous, there is plenty of dolphin activity for your viewing pleasure and it does not take long to get to where the magic of southwest Florida’s natural beauty thrives. Once you arrive to Keewaydin Island, take in a nature walk with your Captain, fill your shelling bag with beach treasures or take a moment to dip your toes in the water!  There are many ways to enjoy your time on the island.  While cruising, you will love moving freely throughout the boat to get the best view capturing memories that will last a lifetime!  A marine restroom is available on the M/V Naples Explorer.  Guests are welcome to bring their own small coolers with drinks and snacks.  This 3-hour experience will return you back to Tin City Waterside Shops where you can enjoy shopping in one of the 30 different unique shops or eating at one of the three delicious restaurants.  You can also walk to 5th Ave South, Naples most famous street, to enjoy more shopping or eating!

We were in town (Naples) visiting our friends who live there. We decided to take an eco-tour on this trip down! Let me tell you, this tour is an absolute MUST-DO!!! We booked a 9am tour and went out on 15 Dec. No one else booked, so our group was able to have the entire boat to ourselves! We brought snacks and drinks to enjoy on the boat. The boat was clean and seemed to be in good working order. It even has a small bathroom on-board, just in case! Sam and Tyler from Pure Florida, our captain and guides were amazing! Request them if you can! Very knowledgeable and entertaining! They even tried to steel the boat to make the wakes from other boats less intrusive on us. It's really the little things, haha. They truly made this an unforgettable experience! We saw many birds (pink spoonbills, crane, osprey (and HUGE nests), storks, pelican), dolphins and other wildlife (raccoons, lol)! The dolphins even started to tail the boat and ride our wave when we got out into the water where you could go a little faster!!! We had 3 of them at one point riding the boats wave and jumping in and out of the water. It was MAGICAL. Just spectacular! Keewaydin Island was also very beautiful. Something out of a magazine or travel brochure. Serine, secluded and very private. There were not many people out that morning. Maybe 2 other boats docked at the beach when we arrived. The boat docked on the beach and you get to hop out and take a path through the island/mangroves to the Gulf of Mexico side! Not knowing what to expect, it was really cool to hear the waves crashing on the beach as you walk through the mangrove forest. We had an entire beach pretty much to ourselves. MILLIONS of amazing sea shells and sea finds! It was exciting to walk down the beach and get excited about finding new and different shells I had never seen before! On the way back to the dock, we were able to witness dolphins hunting in the shallows. Completely amazing!! I will NEVER forget this experience and will recommend highly to anyone!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip back in September. Our Captain and first mate were excellent; great knowledge, friendly and enthusiastic. The beach we were taken to was absolutely stunning, as were the ridiculous houses around the bay! We were lucky enough to see an eagle, ospreys, ibis and a dolphin with their calf, which was incredible to see in the wild. We would thoroughly recommend this trip.

I've used Pure Florida for a few of their experiences. Jet boat at least three times and their eco shelling Keewaydin Island trip twice and each time they have been wonderful from check-in to boarding to excellent information, corny jokes and all. The people at the office when you bring your Groupon Coupon have all your information and reservation before you can get the paper out of your pocket. Whether in season or out you can't go wrong when you choose Pure Florida.
