We visited the abalone farm tour today in Kona. We are old enough to remember diving and barbqueing them In So CA. (70'S) today we learned that the Japanese abalone are being farmed. We saw the whole process. Tour guide was thorough and interesting. So glad this is happening. So sorry we loved them them to almost extinction. Hoping people see the need to protect our ocean. I'm glad this tour was full of interested people

Wonderful tour with a lot of information about their farm, the abalone life cycle, the seaweed growing farm and their processes. Loved it!!! The guide Kai was very knowledgeable and made it fun and interesting. You have a chance to touch live abalone, see moving creatures and the best thing - eat abalones cooked different ways. We also got a chance to see live, moving sea creatures such as sea urchin, black star fish, sea cucumber, and jelly fishes. Highly recommended this tour for folks of all ages.

Excellent tour learning about abalone. Who knew these little creatures were so interesting as well as delicious. Tour guide, Kai, was knowledgeable, engaging and well-versed in Hawaii culture and the farming techniques for the abalone and the seaweed grown by the company. Well worth the time and money.
