Felt comfortable with the guide from the very start! She was personable, informative, and helpful. I am going to Hamilton tonight based on her discounted app suggestion! You can tell she really enjoys what she does.

We were part of a small party, there was just one other couple. Our guide was excellent and we heard some of the history of Harlem as we walked between venues. The music was excellent at the first venue and another large party arrived with another tour guide. The 2nd venue was in the basement of a Brownstone. The music here was not as good as the first venue. However, there was a sense that the music was just stayed for the tour groups. Both bands were waiting our arrival and it seems they finish when we depart. The makeshift car in the 2nd location was staffed by a rude woman and this location was a very average experience. It was good to see Harlem and the music at the first venue was excellent. However, the overall feel was that everything was a bit contrived.

We arrived at our starting point on a cool and rainy evening. Carolyn made us feel right at home, even provided an umbrella. We strolled through Harlem, forgetting about the rain. Carolyn was knowledgeable about the history of Harlem, and we learned a lot. She took our photo in front of the famous Apollo Theater. Then we spent some time in a couple of jazz clubs, taking in the music and atmosphere. Carolyn even took us to a third, unscheduled club for us to enjoy. At the end of the evening, she helped us to navigate the NYC subway system in order for us to return to our hotel. Thanks Carolyn, for a fun and unique evening!
