First, it is important to note that you will not get a 'national park" experience. It is a commercial venture, not a ranger led educational program. You will learn a minimal amount about the Everglades ecosystem and habitat.
The tour is advertised as hotel pickup from Miami. The hotel pickups were mostly from Miami Beach. If you are in Coconut Grove area, you will likely have to drive to the Bayshore Park area or Uber over. An extra $17 from out hotel. We didn't know this until after we booked. Our hotel was not in the list but when you book it allows you to input your hotel and says to confirm after booking. You will most likely need to get to the meetup point on your own.
Everything about this trip was disorganized - from finding out tour company, finding the bus, to figuring out where to go and when to be there for the Airboat your and later for the alligator show. It turn out the color of your wristband is important and things were organized by wristband color but nobody told us that.
The acoustics on the bus were garbled, making it almost impossible to understand what the driver was saying. He may have provided information but we could not make it out if it was provided.
The experience itself was disappointing. We did not enjoy the annoying banter of the Airboat driver. However, on the plus side, he did go out of his way to point out birds and alligators and to quietly angle the boat so everyone could see them. I did learn that is worth seeking out a program run by the National Park Service. This commercial experience was marginal in terms of info.
I gave it 3 stars only because it did do what it said it would do but only in the broadest terms. Buyer beware and do your homework. It was not a good experience for us.
