Everglades Airboat Safari

Overview

Explore the Everglades on an airboat adventure. This tour includes transportation, park entrance, airboat ride, the airboat tour, and free time to walk the park and see all the alligator exhibits. Have the chance to see alligators up close in their natural habitat, as well as the many exhibits scattered throughout the park. This half day tour departs twice daily at 9:30 and 1:30.

An enjoyable excursion, starting with an hour on an airboat with 'Captain Bill' who introduced us to the ecology and wildlife of the Everglades. Saw several large alligators, grackles, gallinules, anhinga, vultures, an osprey. Followed by a show where the alligator Dundee guy explained more about alligator life and put his mouth over one's maxilla.

The Everglades tour was not what I was talked into booking. The airboat ride was ok, but the rest was nothing as promised. For after the boatride, we were promised a wildlife show and free time of about 1h30 in the park to explore the exhibits and trails. There was NO wildlife show and we did not receive any free time in the park to explore on our own or to even walk around to see all the exhibits. Instead, we were put back on the bus immediately to have a 45 minute lunch stop in the middle of nowhere (they probably get commission from the roadside diner). What a waste of time! Additionally, the drop off was not where I was promised, so I had to figure out my own transport back.

Old and few exhibits. Only saw one alligator which was contained in Everglades at a known location. Boat operator said it was captured and placed there. Just wanted to experience an air boat ride.
