Wildlifedrive through the back country of the first Preserve in the National Park system.

Smallwood Store

Step back in time and explore the historic Smallwoods Store Museum. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum stands frozen in time, a window to a bygone era when the store was the islands trading post and island life revolved around the activities here.

Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park

Nature Walk through a grove of ancient cypress trees out to a "gator hole" where female alligators have been nesting for decades.

Rhett our driver tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining and he made the trip the experience that it was! This man knows his plants, animals and Florida Everglades. So entertaining and not dry information . We have been other tours and the guide put you to sleep. Not Rhett. He has a passion for flora fauna and animals of all kinds. We will definitely go again and bring friends and family along.

Great experience. Probably the favorite thing we did. The airboat tour was the best part, the cypress swamp was cool but didn't see much, and the skiff trip was interesting also. Heidi our guide was very interesting and knowledgeable.
