Everglades National Park Dolphin, Birding and Wildlife Boat Tour (2 hours)

Overview
Everglades National Park is unique on our planet. It is a wonderful, water-filled paradise that is best accessed by a quiet, slow-moving, shallow draft boat. One of the best loved residents of the Park are Bottle-Nosed Dolphins. Watching dolphin, in their natural habitat, interacting with each other, something that you will never forget.

Our full-time, formally trained, Florida Master Naturalist guides will safely take you deep into the 10,000 Islands of the Everglades. While searching for dolphins, manatees and some of the 300 different species of birds that call the Park home, you will learn about the different Everglades ecosystem, its long history and rich culture.

You will have fun and learn a lot. Don't forget your cameras!

Everglades National Park Dolphin, Birding and Wildlife Boat Tour (2 hours) Our 1.5 hour boat tour was during a cold spell. We did see dolphins playing in the wade of the boat, bird of prey (eagle & eaglet / Osprey with its two babies) in their nests but no wildlife. Our guide gave a small lecture on mangrove, how he became an operator for the National Park and also he did identity birds & type of dolphins we were looking at. If one decides to tour with this company, the tour boat (a high sided John boat) has 5 uncomfortable chairs and a small bench to carry 6 passengers. There are no bathroom or shade. Our 9am trip was cold with a temp of 60 degrees. Luckily, some of us had extra jackets. The services & facility at the main office was good. Thereā€™s a parking lot, bathrooms and seating area. All the participants were there on time but our guide was quite late. So our trip was short.

I am sorry that you were disappointed in your experience. But, I am happy that you enjoyed the dolphins, eagles, ospreys, little blue herons, snowy egrets, white egrets, great blue herons, tri-colored herons, royal terns and swallow-tailed kites. Unfortunately, our thermostats do not control the outside temperature. But, you were prepared and brought appropriate clothing as encouraged in your email confirmation. The boat is a 27' x 8.5' Skiff with captains style seating that is perfect for the very shallow calm waters of the 10,000 Islands. We limit each tour to just six guests on the boat for an intimate experience. I believe you may have errored in your statement. Your guide was not late, nor was your trip shortened. We only truncate trips for unexpected weather or customer's requests. Hopefully, next time the temperature will be above 60 degrees.

Very nice captain and first mate! We had toddlers with us and they treated them ( and us) like gold! I highly recommend for families. They know where to find the dolphins and how to enhance the viewing. Birds and shelling were a lot of fun.

We signed up for the Boat-Assisted Kayak Tour, but were instead put on a boat-only tour without forewarning. Others on the tour had also been reassigned to this tour. As a result we hadn't brought our photography equipment along. The boat wasn't designed for the moderate Gulf swells on that day so we didn't get the beach walk.

Mr. Detar, I beg to differ. You made a reservation for our Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco Tour AND the Everglades National Park Expedition ... not the Boat Assisted Kayak Eco. Our records show the confirmation for the Expedition was sent, recieved and opened. The other guests "reassigned" simply moved from the 9:00 departure to the 1:30 that you were on. A small-craft advisory was issued during the tour and a beach landing could not be safely conducted. Your captain ahsolutely made the appropriate call. But, I am not sure why you not to bring photo equipment ... this is a great tour for shooting the Park's wildlife
