Experience Local Marine Wildlife Tour

Overview

I (Captain Matt) along with my crew member take our guests out for an incredible experience on the waters in and around Sitka Sound viewing the breathtaking scenery and enjoying diverse wildlife encounters! You may see many if not all of the following wildlife, Humpback whales, Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, Ravens, Bald eagles, shearwaters, cormorants, 2 types of puffins, and many other sea birds too numerous to mention.

Bears are regularly viewed in the late summer early fall, and occasionally viewed in the spring.

As I have had a long career commercial fishing in Southeast Alaska, I give unique insight into the local fishing industry. Both my crew and I will also enlighten you on local history and life in Sitka.

To ensure your experience is genuine, my crew is always either one of my family, or a local hire that truly knows Sitka. We live it year round!!

What To Expect

Sitka

Cruise the waters of Beautiful Sitka Sound, and the outer coastline of Baranof Island viewing Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Harbor seals, Humpback Whales, possibly Orcas, Bald Eagles, and a vast variety of sea birds. Many times all in one tour.

We couldn’t recommend them more! Capt Matt and his spouse were so friendly, it felt like being out on the water with old friends. Their boat was so comfortable and spacious but able to maneuver anywhere we wanted to go. It was such a beautiful ride and so much wildlife! We have been on several whale/sealife watching tours, Sea Piper Wildlife Tours has been the best! Thanks again!!

SO GREAT! Captain Matt was thoughtful, made sure we had treats, saw whales and a bear and more, and made sure we made it back to our cruise ship on time. Would love to do it again!
