River street is paved with 200 year old ballast-stones originally used to weigh down cotton ships, this riverfront street is littered with local restaurants and boutiques as well as historical monuments.

Savannah Historic District

Savannah’s Historic District encompasses more than 20 city squares laid out in a distinctive grid pattern by General James E. Oglethorpe, founder of the British Colony of Georgia in 1733

Chippewa Square

Chippewa Square is named for an event on the northern border with Canada. In the Battle of Chippewa, in 1814, American forces emerged victorious over the British near Niagara Falls, and when Chippewa Square was built in 1815.

We have taken several tours over the years with other tour companies and have found Gray Line to be the best. Our tour guide Chris was amazing!!!! Not only is he knowledgeable in the history of Savannah but modern day knowledge as well. He really made the tour fun and interesting. My teenage daughter could not stop laughing. She immediately fell in love with Savannah during our tour. Having the option to use the shuttle was a bonus, especially in cooler and wet weather.

Our Gray Line tour with Peter was fantastic! Peter knows the history in depth and welcomes any questions. He makes the tour interactive and fun! Gray Line is the best. So easy to work with, very accommodating, trolly was clean and comfortable. PETER made a special trip back to deliver my mask that I forgot on the trolly. Best Savannah tour!

The trolley tour was phenomenal. Our guide, Pete, had a wealth of knowledge about Historic Savannah, from Colonial times to modern times. My group consisted of myself, my mom, and my 10 year old son - we were all enthralled with the tour. Pete made Savannah come to life in a new way for us, even my son wanted to do the tour again. For us, the guide is what/who made the tour, while being knowledgeable, he was also witty - we just had a good, fun time. We are already planning on booking a walking tour when we go back in March!!
