This Extended Lakes Helicopter flight takes you beyond the lake view flight. You will fly directly over Douglas Dam, and proceed over the lake. In the summer you get great sun-glistening views of the water and the people enjoying their time on the lake. During the winter months, the water level is lower allowing for incredible views of exposed islands and coves. Minimum of 2 guests to book flight.

Douglas Lake

On this tour you will climb to almost 1000 feet. You will see view of the French Broad River, Douglas Lake and Mountain Views in the distance. This is our most popular lake flight.

My husband and I rode the Extended Lake today. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. Our Pilot ( Tony) was awesome. He was very friendly and he went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Our boarding attendant (Sean) was very courteous. He ensured our safety was key. Overall amazing experience. My husband and I will be returning every time we come to Gatlinburg. Highly recommend. You won’t regret giving them a visit.

I was nervous while we were waiting, I’m terrified of heights. We got to talk to a pilot while we waited. He said he was scared of heights, and doesn’t even like to be on a ten foot ladder. But he said he feels very secure and safe. That kind of calmed my nerves a little. Once we got up and got to see the view, it was beautiful and you did feel very safe. This was one of the best and most exciting memories of our whole trip. We will definitely be coming back and do a longer tour.

Most people have the same fear and realize that it's not so bad being in a helicopter, they actually all really enjoy it too. We have a few pilots who aren't big fans of heights either but that doesn't stop them from flying. thank you for letting us help make some amazing memories, hope to see you again!
