With the early access, for an hour, we were the only visitors in the museum. It was definitely worth it. We had a guided tour of the part we were the most interested in, which was the fossils. This to me is the only way to visit if you know this may be you're only time to experience the Field Museum.

Was worth the extra money and early time to have a private tour before the museum opens. Tour guide was very knowledgeable but did not overload us with information as we interacted with the exhibits.

This is an awesome experience. If youā€™re very interested in the Field Museum, especially Sue the T-Rex, this is a great tour. Itā€™s a scheduled tour, so someone will meet you at the east entrance and guide you through the museum. You should arrive around 745-8am. Since this is about an hour before the museum actually opens, you canā€™t roam the museum unaccompanied, the tour guide will be with you the whole hour. But you can look at whatever exhibits interest you, and the guide will take you there and give you information. You get the museum to yourself for that hour, which makes picture taking and exploring fun and easy. Highly recommend.
