My daughter's birthday is in February and this year was pretty much in the middle of the Polar Vortex. To celebrate, we took the family to Chicago for the weekend and the Field Museum was the perfect activity to kick off the weekend. We got there right as it opened on a Friday. Since the weather was super cold, I think that kept a lot of people away because it wasn't very busy at all. This was our first visit back since they moved Sue from the main entrance area. The new dino that took her place is amazing! Our kids loved that you could get really close to it and actually touch the bones since it is a replica and not the real deal, BUT you could see the real deal there too because they had some of those actual bones on display too. Sue's new home upstairs is AWESOME! It's very interactive and kept my kids' attention the whole time! They didn't want to leave! Pros: • Perfect for all ages • The new Sue exhibit is amazing • The dino that replaced Sue is great too, you can get up close and personal with it • Good location close to downtown, the aquarium and Navy Pier • Great indoor activity especially during the Polar Vortex Cons: • There weren't too many options for cheap parking, so either just realize it's going to be expensive or map out a SpotHero and Uber it there for cheaper

The Field Museum has exhibits for every taste or educational focus. It is the dinosaur exhibits that, for me anyway, were hands down the most impressive. The sheer number of dinosaurs on display was mind-boggling, and Sue the T-Rex was quite the sight to behold!

The Wildlife Photography Exhibit was outstanding. We worth the visit. Outstanding exhibit. The rest of the museum was not to my taste as there were just too many stuffed animals. Definitely a good place to educate yourself about animals from different continents and the photography exhibit was outstanding.
