Any age child can enjoy the airboat tour. Children 3 years and under are free. It is not necessary to purchase a ticket for ages 3 years and under.
Tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour due to inclement weather
If you have selected the 4 p.m. time please note that it is a check in time only and that your airboat adventure will be leaving the dock at 5 p.m. so that you have ample time to explore the exhibit areas before they close at 5 p.m.

What To Expect

Sawgrass Recreation Park

Skim across the grassy water at speeds up to 40 miles per hour while looking for wildlife like alligators, fish, turtles, and wading birds. This general admission ticket includes entrance to Sawgrass Recreation Park, a 30-40 minute guided airboat tour and an admission to our Alligator & Reptile Exhibit. Just 25 minutes from Fort Lauderdale, the safest and most entertaining and educational way to experience the Everglades’ unique subtropical ecosystem is at Sawgrass Recreation Park.

I was nervous about being out there with alligators but it was so much fun! Captain Jimmy was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about his “back yard.” After the boat ride we learned more about alligators in captivity. Super interesting and great staff. The gift shop was full of great gifts and reasonably priced.

I have done this trip several times, the most recent this past September with my best friend, this was her first time. Captain Lauderdale took us out and tried very hard to find us wildlife. He also taught us about the ecosystem, from animals to sawgrass, we learned a little bit of it all. We saw several types of birds, and land reptiles. We were able to see 1 alligator off in the distance (about 40 yards away). The experience is really about the air boat ride, if it doesn't make you smile at least a little bit you really shouldn't be on vacation because you must be the grumpy type, and nobody likes those people. You have to keep in mind this is in the wild, so it’s not guaranteed that you will see alligators, but Captain Laudedale does his best to find them. The exhibits are small and simple, but everything you want to see, you won’t feel rushed through or pressured into leaving.

Fun boat ride and our tour guide, Daniel, was very friendly and knowledgeable. I wasn’t thrilled with the exhibit and it wasn’t very big. We had to wait for our ride for an hour but the exhibit only killed 20 mins of that time. Overall, a cool experience and fun boat ride and we did spot some gators and birds.
